I offer the following treatments, from 2pm on Thursdays.

Reflexology can be dated back to 2500-2300 BC and seen on a
wall painting in the tomb at Saqqara of ‘Ankmahor’ an Egyptian physician. Reflexology is all about balancing the body and by using pressure points on the feet, hands, ears or face, it can help the stimulate the body to balance. Reflexology never claims to cure. Reflexology is all about balance and balancing the body. I liken reflexology to one BIG HUG for the whole body!

Adapted Reflextherapy

Adapted Reflextherapy is a therapy developed by Gunnel Berry to treat clients with chronic and acute spinal pain often as the result of whiplash or trauma. The treatment is applied by pressing on the feet or hands using a series of specific techniques developed from reflexology. After attending Gunnel’s course to learn the techniques of Adapted Reflextherapy I incorporated the principle into my reflexology treatments if and when it is required.

Massage Therapy

Massage therapy can be dated back to 2700 BC in China. In ancient Greece, Hippocrates referred to it as the ‘father of medicine’ in the West and he makes references to ‘rubbing for loosening and softening of muscles’.
Swedish massage was developed by Dr. Ling in Sweden in the nineteenth century based on techniques used in Swedish gymnastics.

Swedish massage uses the following techniques: effleurage, petrissage, friction, tapotement and vibration to provide a wonderful massage to reduce both physical and emotional stress in the body.

Sometimes if you get a nettle sting and you rub a dock leaf on it, it helps to stop it stinging. This is due to the oil in the dock leaf combined with the action of rubbing the sting on the skin.

Aromatherapy uses natural oils extracted from flowers, bark, twigs, stems, leaves, roots or other parts of a plant to help to improve physical and mental well-being.

Many oils are used in our day to day products for example in soaps, detergents, perfumes, sweets, toothpaste, etc.
